The St. Johns Redwings football squad scored 22 points and limited the visiting Hamilton Hawkeyes to 14 in the Redwings non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Redwings now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ionia for a non-league test on Friday, September 5. St. Johns will face a Bulldogs team coming off a 63-7 non-league loss to Belding (Belding, MI). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-1.
The Hawkeyes (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Thornapple Kellogg (Middleville, MI). The Trojans go into the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Thornapple Kellogg lost by Hastings (Hastings, MI), 31-29, in a non-league challenge.
