The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) and the visiting McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC), saw Wilkes Central's football team bounce McMichael by a final score of 47-14.

With the win, Wilkes Central advances its record to 2-0 on the season. The Eagles travel to Draughn (Valdese, NC) to encounter the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Friday, September 5. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 0-2. Draughn lost 68-0 in their recent non-league bout against Freedom (Morganton, NC)

The Phoenix now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host South Stokes for a non-league bout on Friday, September 5. McMichael will confront a Sauras squad coming off a 49-0 non-league loss to West Stokes (King, NC). The Sauras record now stands at 0-2.
