West Virginia High School Football - Mingo Central nips Tug Valley

August 28, 2025: Williamson, WV 25661

The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV) and the host Tug Valley Panthers (Williamson, WV), witnessed Mingo Central's football squad edge Tug Valley by a tally of 35-30.

The Miners (1-0) will now prepare for their bout against Westside (Clear Fork, WV). The Renegades go into the Coalfield AA bout with a 1-0 record. In their last bout, Westside nudged Wyoming East (New Richmond, WV), 54-6, in a league bout.

The Panthers now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Sherman for a Coalfield A bout on Friday, September 5. Tug Valley will battle a Tide squad coming off a 48-41 non-league win over Sissonville (Charleston, WV). The Tide record now stands at 1-0.
