The Oakridge Eagles football squad scored 29 points and limited the visiting Orchard View Cardinals to 14 in the Eagles league triumph on Thursday.

The Eagles now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Montague for a West Michigan - Lakes test on Friday, September 5. Oakridge will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 26-14 non-league loss to Forest Hills Eastern (Ada, MI). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-1.

The Cardinals (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Whitehall (Whitehall, MI). The Vikings go into the West Michigan - Lakes challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Whitehall lost by Unity Christian (Hudsonville, MI), 55-14, in a non-league challenge.
