Southwestern Warriors (Somerset, KY) backers exited the stadium pleased Thursday as they witnessed their soccer team beat the visiting Green County Dragons (Greensburg, KY), 5-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Southwestern advances its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to McCreary Central (Stearns, KY) to clash with the Raiders in a District 48 outing on Thursday, September 4. The Raiders go into the outing with a record of 0-6. McCreary Central lost 4-0 in their recent league outing against Wayne County (Monticello, KY)

Next up, the Dragons play the North Laurel Jaguars (London, KY) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, August 30. Green County will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record. The Jaguars go into the outing with a 3-3 record after their 4-2 non-league loss to Garrard County (Lancaster, KY).
