In Thursday's non-league match, the host West Charlotte Lions football squad scored a decisive 44-8 triumph over the Monroe Redhawks.

With the win, West Charlotte improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Lions travel to Providence (Charlotte, NC) to play the Panthers in a non-league battle on Wednesday, September 10. The Panthers go into the battle with a record of 2-0.
