The West Stanly Colts football squad (Oakboro, NC), was beaten 35-10 in Thursday's non-league match with the host North Stanly Comets (New London, NC)

The Comets (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Montgomery Central (Troy, NC). The Timberwolves enter the non-league match with a 1-1 record. In their last match, Montgomery Central thwarted Anson (Wadesboro, NC), 19-0, in a non-league battle.

The Colts now hold a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Albemarle for a non-league match on Thursday, September 4.
