The West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC) football knocked off the host Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC), 16-6 in Thursday's non-league contest.

The Wildcats (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Clayton (Clayton, NC). The Comets enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record.

Coming up next, the Spartans battle the Harnett Central Trojans (Angier, NC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, September 4. Smithfield-Selma will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record.
