The Newton Tigers edged the visiting Pelahatchie Chiefs volleyball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Thursday's non-league game.
Next up, the Tigers confront the Bay Springs Bulldogs (Bay Springs, MS) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, September 2. Newton will attempt to advance on its 1-0 season record.
