Carthage Comets (Carthage, NY) fans went home happy Thursday as they saw their soccer squad hold off the visiting South Lewis Falcons (Turin, NY), 2-1 in a non-league outing.

The Comets (1-0) will now prepare for their outing against Indian River (Philadelphia, NY). The Wolves enter the Frontier- Division A outing with a 0-1 record. In their last outing, Indian River was edged by Lansing (Lansing, NY), 2-1, in a non-league outing.

Next up, the Falcons confront the Lowville Red Raiders (Lowville, NY) in a non-league outing, on Monday, September 8. South Lewis will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record.
