In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Cheboygan Chiefs volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Alpena Wildcats.

The Chiefs (9-0) will now prepare for their test against Grayling (Grayling, MI). The Vikings go into the Lake Michigan test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Grayling went down by Houghton Lake (Houghton Lake, MI), 2-1, in a non-league test.

With the loss, Alpena drops to 0-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Traverse City Central (Traverse City, MI) to play the Trojans in a Big North outing on Wednesday, September 3. The Trojans come into the outing with a record of 4-2. Traverse City Central lost 2-1 in their recent non-league outing against Mona Shores (Norton Shores, MI)
