In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Dayton Broncos volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Vidor Pirates.

The Broncos (9-12) will now prepare for their challenge against Shepherd (Shepherd, TX). The Pirates enter the non-league challenge with a 3-5 record. In their last challenge, Shepherd beat Trinity (Trinity, TX), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Pirates meet the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks (Sour Lake, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, August 29. Vidor will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Hawks enter the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Caney Creek (Conroe, TX).
