In Thursday's non-league match, the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans (Mt. Vernon, SD) volleyball team held off the visiting Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies (Elk Point, SD), by a margin of 3-2.
The Titans now possess a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Wagner for a A Region 5 bout on Tuesday, September 2.
The Huskies (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Dell Rapids (Dell Rapids, SD). The Quarriers enter the non-league match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, Dell Rapids was tipped by Watertown (Watertown, SD), 2-1, in a non-league match.
