Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Midland Mustangs (Pleasant Plains, AR) and the host Viola Longhorns (Viola, AR), observed Midland's volleyball team hold off Viola by a count of 3-2.

The Mustangs (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Cedar Ridge (Newark, AR). The Timberwolves enter the 2A 2 contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Cedar Ridge got by Izard County (Brockwell, AR), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Longhorns battle the Mountain Home Christian Academy Eagles (Mountain Home, AR) in a non-league contest, on Monday, September 8. Viola will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record.
