West Virginia High School Volleyball - Wirt County can't get by St. Albans

August 28, 2025: Elizabeth, WV 26143

St. Albans Red Dragons (St. Albans, WV) backers were pleased Thursday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Wirt County Tigers (Elizabeth, WV), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Red Dragons (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against South Charleston (South Charleston, WV). The Black Eagles come into the Mountain State challenge with a 5-3 record. In their last challenge, South Charleston edged Ripley (Ripley, WV), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Tigers meet the Ritchie County Rebels (Ellenboro, WV) in a Little Kanawha challenge, on Thursday, September 4. Wirt County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Grafton (Grafton, WV).
