St. Joseph-Ogden Spartans (St. Joseph, IL) fans were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the host Schlarman Hilltoppers (Danville, IL), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans confront the Hoopeston Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 1. St. Joseph-Ogden will attempt to better on its 2-1 season record. The Cornjerkers enter the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 3-0 league loss to Oakwood/Catlin (Fithian, IL).

The Hilltoppers now have a 0-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Iroquois West for a Vermilion Valley challenge on Tuesday, August 30. Schlarman will confront a Raiders team coming off a 9-2 non-league win over Kankakee Trinity Academy (Kankakee, IL). The Raiders record now stands at 1-3.
