Fort Collins Lambkins (Fort Collins, CO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting The Academy Wildcats (Westminster, CO), 6-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Lambkins now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Legacy for a 5A/4A Front Range challenge on Saturday, September 3. Fort Collins will battle a Lightning squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Legend (Parker, CO). The Lightning record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, The Academy falls to 6-1 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Thornton (Thornton, CO) to battle the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, August 30. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 6-2. Thornton won 21-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Jefferson (Edgewater, CO)
