Sandhills/Thedford Knights (Dunning, NE) followers went home pleased Thursday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Anselmo-Merna Coyotes (Merna, NE), 58-16 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Sandhills/Thedford advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Knights travel to Ainsworth (Ainsworth, NE) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. The Bulldogs go into the battle with a record of 0-1. Ainsworth lost 54-34 in their recent non-league battle against Hartington-Newcastle (Hartington, NE)

The Coyotes now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Overton for a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. Anselmo-Merna will play a Eagles team coming off a 60-36 non-league win over Axtell (Axtell, NE). The Eagles record now stands at 1-0.
