In their next game, the Sailors face the El Modena Vanguards (Orange, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 5. Newport Harbor will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Vanguards enter the challenge with a 2-0 record after their 36-28 non-league win over Colony (Ontario, CA).

The Highlanders (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Ayala (Chino Hills, CA). The Bulldogs enter the non-league challenge with a 2-0 record. In their last challenge, Ayala ran past Bonita (La Verne, CA), 7-0, in a non-league challenge.
