The Murphy Bulldogs football squad scored 38 points and limited the host Mitchell Mountaineers to 14 in the Bulldogs non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Bulldogs now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they host Hayesville for a non-league test on Thursday, September 5. Murphy will meet a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 42-8 non-league win over Madison (Marshall, NC). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 1-0.
With the defeat, Mitchell drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Mountaineers host Avery County (Newland, NC) to meet the Vikings in a non-league test on Thursday, September 5. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 0-1.
