The Providence Panthers football squad scored 13 points and limited the visiting South Mecklenburg Sabres to 12 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Panthers now hold a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Huss for a non-league test on Thursday, September 5. Providence will meet a Huskies squad coming off a 40-0 non-league win over Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, South Mecklenburg drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Sabres host Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC) to meet the Cavaliers in a non-league test on Thursday, September 5. The Cavaliers come into the test with a record of 1-1. Cuthbertson won 48-22 in their recent non-league test against Central Davidson (Lexington, NC)
