Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) and the visiting Pulaski County Maroons (Somerset, KY), saw Wayne County's soccer squad hold off Pulaski County by a count of 1-0.

The Cardinals (5-2) will now prepare for their battle against Madison Southern (Berea, KY). The Eagles enter the non-league battle with a 3-2 record. In their last battle, Madison Southern South Laurel (London, KY), 3-3, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Maroons battle the Casey County Rebels (Liberty, KY) in a District 47 battle, on Tuesday, September 3. Pulaski County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Rebels enter the battle with a 2-6 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Barbourville (Barbourville, KY).
