Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the West Cabarrus Wolverines (Concord, NC) and the host Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC), saw West Cabarrus's soccer squad hold off Sun Valley by a count of 1-0.

The Wolverines (4-3) will now prepare for their battle against North Iredell (Olin, NC). The Raiders enter the non-league battle with a 2-1 record. In their last battle, North Iredell tipped North Davidson (Lexington, NC), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Spartans battle the Palisades Pumas (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 3. Sun Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Pumas enter the battle with a 3-1 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC).
