Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Roeper Roughriders (Birmingham, MI) and the visiting Academy of the Sacred Heart Gazelles (Bloomfield Hills, MI), observed Roeper's volleyball team hold off Academy of the Sacred Heart by a count of 2-1.

The Roughriders (2-3) will now prepare for their contest against Lutheran (Westland, MI). The Warriors enter the Michigan Independent - Red contest with a 4-3 record. In their last contest, Lutheran got by Richard (Riverview, MI), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Gazelles battle the University Eagles (Ferndale, MI) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, September 3. Academy of the Sacred Heart will attempt to move on its 0-4 season record. The Eagles enter the contest with a 0-2 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Walled Lake Central (Walled Lake, MI).
