The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Bastrop Bears (Bastrop, TX) and the visiting Alvin Yellowjackets (Alvin, TX), witnessed Bastrop's football squad wallop Alvin by a tally of 55-14.

The Bears (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against China Spring (China Spring, TX). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, China Spring crushed Franklin (Franklin, TX), 42-28, in a non-league contest.

Next up, the Yellowjackets encounter the Fort Bend Dulles Vikings (Sugar Land, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 5. Alvin will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 36-28 non-league loss to Westbury (Houston, TX).
