The Orono Spartans football squad scored 21 points and limited the visiting Becker Bulldogs to 0 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Friday.
The Spartans now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Byron for a non-league test on Friday, September 5. Orono will meet a Bears squad coming off a 42-12 non-league win over Academy of Holy Angels (Richfield, MN). The Bears record now stands at 1-0.
With the defeat, Becker drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Hutchinson (Hutchinson, MN) to meet the Tigers in a Skyway - Copper test on Friday, September 5. The Tigers come into the test with a record of 1-0. Hutchinson won 20-7 in their recent non-league test against Princeton (Princeton, MN)
