Valley View Cougars (Archbald, PA) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad thwart the host Crestwood Comets (Mountain Top, PA), 24-13 in a non-league match.

The Cougars (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Wilkes-Barre (Wilkes-Barre, PA). The Wolfpack come into the non-league match with a 1-1 record. In their last match, Wilkes-Barre defeated Stroudsburg (Stroudsburg, PA), 48-42, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Comets confront the Tunkhannock Tigers (Tunkhannock, PA) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 5. Crestwood will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Tigers go into the battle with a 1-1 record after their 55-7 non-league win over Holy Redeemer (Wilkes-Barre, PA).
