Alabama High School Football - Sparta Academy nudges Edgewood Academy

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Sparta Academy Warriors (Evergreen, AL) and the host Edgewood Academy Wildcats (Elmore, AL), witnessed Sparta Academy's football squad edge Edgewood Academy by a count of 28-22.

The Warriors (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against South Choctaw Academy (Toxey, AL). The Rebels go into the AISA AA Region 2 battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, South Choctaw Academy nudged Banks Academy (Birmingham, AL), 56-24, in a non-league battle.

The Wildcats now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lakeside School for a AISA AA Region 1 match on Friday, September 5. Edgewood Academy will confront a Chiefs team coming off a 44-0 non-league loss to Fort Dale Academy (Greenville, AL). The Chiefs record now stands at 0-1.
