In their next game, the Crusaders play the St. George's Gryphons (Collierville, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 5. First Assembly Christian will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Gryphons go into the challenge with a 2-0 record after their 27-0 non-league win over Harding Academy (Memphis, TN).

With the defeat, Walnut drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Belmont (Belmont, MS) to meet the Cardinals in a non-league test on Friday, September 5. The Cardinals come into the test with a record of 1-0. Belmont won 36-34 in their recent non-league test against McNairy Central (Selmer, TN)
