The Okoboji Pioneers overwhelmed the host Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks football squad by a margin of 49-0 in Friday's non-league test.

The Pioneers now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley for a non-league test on Friday, September 5. Okoboji will meet a NIGHTHAWKS squad coming off a 40-13 non-league win over Sibley-Ocheyedan (Sibley, IA). The NIGHTHAWKS record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn drops to 0-1 on the year. The Hawks travel to South O'Brien (Paullina, IA) to face the Wolverines in a A District 1 challenge on Friday, September 5. The Wolverines enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. South O'Brien won 29-14 in their recent non-league challenge against West Monona (Onawa, IA)
