Holly Springs Golden Hawks (Holly Springs, NC) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Wakefield Wolverines (Raleigh, NC), 31-14 in a non-league match.
The Golden Hawks (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Apex (Apex, NC). The Cougars come into the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Apex went down by Fuquay - Varina (Fuquay-Varina, NC), 28-2, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Wolverines face the Wake Forest Cougars (Wake Forest, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 12. Wakefield will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record.
