In Friday's non-league game, the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars (Lyons, NE) football squad tipped the host Homer Knights (Homer, NE), by a margin of 42-40.

The Cougars now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Cedar Bluffs for a non-league outing on Friday, September 5. Lyons-Decatur Northeast will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 52-14 non-league win over Walthill (Walthill, NE). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-0.

Coming up next, the Knights battle the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers (Bancroft, NE) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 5. Homer will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record.
