    The Independence Patriots football squad (Charlotte, NC), was routed 35-0 in Friday's non-league match with the visiting Hough Huskies (Cornelius, NC)

    The Huskies (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Highland Springs (Highland Springs, VA). The Springers enter the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Highland Springs routed Hopewell (Hopewell, VA), 68-12, in a non-league match.

    Coming up next, the Patriots confront the Charlotte Christian Knights (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 5. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Knights go into the battle with a 1-1 record after their 16-7 non-league loss to Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC).
