The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Johnsburg Skyhawks (Johnsburg, IL) and the visiting Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL), witnessed Johnsburg's football squad edge Thornwood by a tally of 35-30.

The Skyhawks (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Addison Trail (Addison, IL). The Blazers enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last bout, Addison Trail nudged Streamwood (Streamwood, IL), 41-13, in a non-league bout.

The Thunderbirds now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Corliss for a non-league bout on Thursday, September 4. Thornwood will encounter a Trojans team coming off a 17-14 non-league loss to Payton College Prep (Chicago, IL). The Trojans record now stands at 0-1.
