Utah High School Football - Kearns trounced by Payson

Payson Lions (Payson, UT) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Kearns Cougars (Kearns, UT), 45-7 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Payson advances its record to 1-2 on the season. The Lions travel to Timpview (Provo, UT) to encounter the Thunderbirds in a 5A Region 7 battle on Friday, September 5. The Thunderbirds enter the match with a record of 0-3. Timpview lost 42-10 in their recent non-league match against Lone Peak (Highland, UT)

The Cougars now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Cyprus for a 5A Region 4 battle on Friday, September 5. Kearns will play a Pirates team coming off a 42-14 non-league win over Tooele (Tooele, UT). The Pirates record now stands at 3-1.
