Mississippi High School Football - Perry Central thwarted by Loyd Star

Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Perry Central Bulldogs (New Augusta, MS), 20-0 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Loyd Star improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Hornets host West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS) to meet the Bears in a non-league test on Friday, September 5. The Bears come into the test with a record of 0-1. West Lincoln lost 36-0 in their recent non-league test against Richton (Richton, MS)

With the defeat, Perry Central drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Greene County (Leakesville, MS) to face the Wildcats in a non-league game on Friday, September 5. The Wildcats enter the game with a record of 1-0. Greene County won 34-27 in their recent non-league game against East Central (Moss Point, MS)
