Mahtomedi Zephyrs (Mahtomedi, MN) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the visiting Mankato West Scarlets (Mankato, MN), 21-19 in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Zephyrs play the Highland Park Scots (St. Paul, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 5. Mahtomedi will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record. The Scots go into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 28-20 non-league loss to Richfield (Richfield, MN).

The Scarlets (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Owatonna (Owatonna, MN). The Huskies go into the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last test, Owatonna was nipped by Mankato East (Mankato, MN), 28-7, in a non-league test.
