Pennsylvania High School Football - Mentor winner over McDowell

August 29, 2025: Erie, PA 16506

The Mentor Cardinals (Mentor, OH) football knocked off the host McDowell Trojans (Erie, PA), 42-12 in Friday's non-league bout.

With the win, Mentor advances its record to 2-0 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Brunswick (Brunswick, OH) to encounter the Blue Devils in a Greater Cleveland bout on Friday, September 12. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 0-2.

The Trojans now own a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Chardon for a non-league contest on Friday, September 5. McDowell will confront a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 26-24 non-league win over Cleveland Heights (Cleveland Heights, OH). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 1-1.
