The Riverdale Rams football squad scored 20 points and limited the visiting Mendota Trojans to 0 in the Rams non-league triumph on Friday.
The Rams now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kewanee for a non-league test on Friday, September 5. Riverdale will face a Boilermakers team coming off a 29-6 non-league loss to Erie (Erie, IL). The Boilermakers record now stands at 0-1.
The Trojans (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL). The Comets enter the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Newman Central Catholic ran past Princeton (Princeton, IL), 28-14, in a non-league challenge.
