In Friday's league match, the visiting PikeView Panthers football squad scored a decisive 50-8 victory over the Summers County Bobcats.

The Panthers (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Liberty (Glen Daniel, WV). The Raiders enter the Coalfield AA match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Liberty was routed by Doddridge County (West Union, WV), 41-6, in a non-league match.

Next up, the Bobcats play the Greenbrier West Cavaliers (Charmco, WV) in a Coalfield A battle, on Friday, September 5. Summers County will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Cavaliers go into the battle with a 0-1 record after their 67-16 non-league loss to Roane County (Spencer, WV).
