    The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC) and the visiting Smithfield-Selma Spartans (Smithfield, NC), saw West Johnston's football team gain a win over Smithfield-Selma by a final score of 26-0.

    With the win, West Johnston advances its record to 1-1 on the season. The Wildcats host Clayton (Clayton, NC) to encounter the Comets in a non-league bout on Friday, September 12. The Comets go into the bout with a record of 2-0.

    Coming up next, the Spartans confront the Harnett Central Trojans (Angier, NC) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 5. Smithfield-Selma will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Trojans enter the contest with a 1-1 record after their 34-19 non-league loss to Overhills (Spring Lake, NC).
