Southern Wayne Saints (Dudley, NC) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Spring Creek Gators (Seven Springs, NC), 48-8 in a non-league match.
The Saints (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Goldsboro (Goldsboro, NC). The Cougars come into the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Goldsboro was routed by Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC), 60-0, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Gators play the North Duplin Rebels (Calypso, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 5. Spring Creek will attempt to improve on its 0-2 season record. The Rebels go into the challenge with a 2-0 record after their 39-19 non-league win over Rosewood (Goldsboro, NC).
