In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Perryton Rangers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Lubbock Westerners.

The Rangers (7-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Horizon (El Paso, TX). The Scorpions come into the non-league challenge with a 4-10 record. In their last challenge, Horizon was nudged by Wall (Wall, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

The Westerners now sport a 3-14 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tascosa for a 5A Region I District 3 test on Tuesday, September 2. Lubbock will face a Rebels squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Canyon (Canyon, TX). The Rebels record now stands at 13-7.
