The Placer Hillmen volleyball team (Auburn, CA), was beaten 2-0 in Friday's non-league contest with the visiting Merced Bears (Merced, CA)

The Bears (2-5) will now prepare for their contest against Smith Valley (Smith, NV). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 1-2 record. In their last test, Smith Valley was defeated by Carson (Carson City, NV), 2-0, in a non-league test.

The Hillmen now own a 2-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Churchill County for a non-league test on Saturday, August 30. Placer will encounter a Greenwave squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Wooster (Reno, NV). The Greenwave record now stands at 7-1.
