In Friday's non-league challenge, the host St. Monica Mariners volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Oakwood Owls.

The Mariners (4-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Paraclete (Lancaster, CA). The Spirits come into the Camino Real challenge with a 5-2 record. In their last challenge, Paraclete beat Mary Star of the Sea (San Pedro, CA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Owls meet the Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) Panthers (Los Angeles, CA) in a Independence test, on Tuesday, September 2. Oakwood will attempt to advance on its 0-5 season record.
