North Carolina High School Football - Newton-Conover trounced by Hickory

August 30, 2024: Hickory, NC 28601

Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 34-0 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Hickory advances its record to 2-0 on the season. The Red Tornadoes host Cox Mill (Concord, NC) to play the Chargers in a non-league battle on Friday, September 13. The Chargers go into the battle with a record of 0-1.

The Red Devils now own a 0-2 record. They play next when they host East Rutherford for a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. Newton-Conover will play a Cavaliers team coming off a 40-32 non-league loss to T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 1-1.
