The Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX) football were winner over the host Hidalgo Pirates (Hidalgo, TX), 44-21 in Friday's non-league outing.

The Vikings now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bishop for a non-league outing on Friday, September 6. Pace will clash with a Badgers squad coming off a 45-13 non-league loss to London (Corpus Christi, TX). The Badgers record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, Hidalgo drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Pirates host La Feria (La Feria, TX) to clash with the Lions in a non-league outing on Friday, September 6. The Lions come into the outing with a record of 0-1. La Feria lost 27-0 in their recent non-league outing against Ingleside (Ingleside, TX)
