Pennsylvania High School Football - Honesdale defeats Pocono Mountain East

August 30, 2024: Swiftwater, PA 18370

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Honesdale Hornets (Honesdale, PA) and the host Pocono Mountain East Cardinals (Swiftwater, PA), witnessed Honesdale's football squad topple Pocono Mountain East by a count of 43-20.

The Hornets (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Wallenpaupack Area (Hawley, PA). The Buckhorns enter the non-league contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Wallenpaupack Area thwarted East Stroudsburg North (Dingmans Ferry, PA), 36-14, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Cardinals confront the Scranton Knights (Scranton, PA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, September 5. Pocono Mountain East will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Knights enter the contest with a 2-0 record after their 36-13 non-league win over Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA).
