The Independence Mustangs were victorious over the visiting North Fayette Valley football team by a score of 42-14 in Friday's non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Mustangs face the Crestwood Cadets (Cresco, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 6. Independence will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record. The Cadets enter the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 9-7 non-league loss to MFL MarMac (Monona, IA).
The (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Sumner-Fredericksburg (Sumner, IA). The Cougars enter the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Sumner-Fredericksburg ran past East Buchanan (Winthrop, IA), 33-0, in a non-league challenge.
