Illinois High School Football - Mt. Vernon can't hold off Waterloo

Waterloo Bulldogs (Waterloo, IL) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the host Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL), 35-28 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Waterloo improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Columbia (Columbia, IL) to play the Eagles in a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. The Eagles go into the battle with a record of 1-0. Columbia won 35-0 in their recent non-league battle against Mater Dei (Breese, IL)

Coming up next, the Rams battle the Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL) in a South Seven contest, on Friday, September 6. Mt. Vernon will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Terriers enter the contest with a 1-0 record after their 36-33 non-league win over Murphysboro (Murphysboro, IL).
